First, we want to say we didn’t know what a Fertility Doula was. However, now that we do, we think everyone should have one if they are going through fertility issues or IVF in general.

Cassie has been absolutely fantastic. We were in over our heads, we have done all the research and talked to all the doctors and still felt completely at a loss when it comes to what to do. In came Cassie, our Fertility Doula, and we had a general sense of ease talking with her. She explained things we hadn’t ever thought of and she listened to what we had to say. The fertility world is so large with so many possibilities, it’s easy to get lost in everything.

Cassie made sure we were informed, listened to and acknowledged. One thing that I think is hard, for us at least, is understanding that we are in control. We are normally in control of things but with infertility we felt that it was outside of our realm of knowledge and that we should just blindly follow our doctors. Cassie doesn't go against the doctors but she helped to keep us informed and made sure we really truly understood that we can still advocate for what we want.

We had triumphs and heart breaks and Cassie was right there by our side. She was always a phone call away and let us know that whatever level of interaction we required from her she would follow through with. She, by chance, even ended up being at our fertility clinic the morning of my egg retrieval. It was so wonderful to see her that day!

Cassie has been such an amazing support for us as a couple on this journey. From day one we felt like we had known her forever. When I started my IVF journey, I was all over the place. I felt like I was racing against time. How could I be so old, and still feel so lost!

I found a brochure posted at IVI clinic, now ART, with Cassie’s contact information. We had various points of exchange and she was so willing to provide me such sound advice and steps to explore. She helped bring order amongst the chaos. She also brought me so much knowledge about what to ask, the various particulars of the process and confidence in moving forward. She took her time to meet with me, and I was so shocked she didn’t charge anything for her time and care. She constantly checked back in on me, and even years later we still keep in touch. I had told her back then, please make this your profession as you have so much passion and while I appreciated her time, I also felt guilty that she wasn’t compensated for such time spent away from her family.
